Airtel Blackberry Plans Will Stop Working On Non BB Devices

Recently, I posted on <a
href="http://www.orjiakor.com/get-4gb-data-bundle-airtel-nigeria-1500/">How
TO get 4GB Data Bundle from Airtel at N1500</a> but this 4GB data
bundle at N1500 is only available on Airtel BB plan. On that post, I
also explain how it can be used on PC or on any other device without
the user experiencing any problem.

I am sharing this post to inform you what Airtel Nigeria have made it
clearly that Airtel BB plan will no longer work on non blackberry
devices or used as a modem starting from December 3, 2013. Airtel made
this known by sending sms to their customers which reads as follows
"Dear Customer, effective 3rd December, 2013. Airtel BB plans will
cease to function on non BB devices or used as a modem".

We should remember that Airtel BB plan is the only BB plan that is
currently working on non blackberry devices in Nigeria at the time of
writing this post. Nigerians are using BB plan on non BB devices just
because it's less expensive compared to subscribing to other internet
data bundles. If Airtel Nigeria really joins other telecommunication
networks in Nigeria to block BB plans from working on non blackberry
devices, will there ever be another option for Nigerians because the
prices to subscribe to internet data bundle in Nigeria is still seem
to be too high.
